QUOTE OF THE DAY

"'Pag binato ka ng bato...ilagan mo."

...masakit yun eh. Pwede din naman saluhin mo ulit tapos ibato mo pabalik para di ka na mahirapan maghanap.

Just a thought.

TEXT QUOTE OF THE DAY

In short..WAG KAYONG MAHILIG SA MASARAP PARA WALANG PO-PROBLEMAHIN!!!

Lagi nya kong napapangiti...

The Crazy Past Few Weeks..

It's been a while since I last posted something here...I haven't been so creative honestly. But I guess, I have been into new things.

But focusing on the most important things I experienced the past few weeks, I would think about the typhoon first. It was damn crazy. It seemed like it only happens in movies, news...but no, it was for real. I didn't think it was that serious, until I saw posts of videos in my Facebook account. Cars floating, people on the rooves of their houses, dead animals, trash all over...I was worried about family and friends who could possibly be in those flooded areas, while we were among the lucky ones who were part of the 20% who was safe from flood waters.

So this is how it feels? Our home wasn't flooded, thank you Lord, but it hurts to see our fellow countrymen, and even some of my closest friends go through this. I can't do anything, but to offer prayers and other kinds of help. Yes, I tried to help, but let's not go into detail with that anymore...

This, for me, is just alarming. I hope that we, Filipinos, find it in our hearts, just as we found it easy in our hearts to donate and help victims of the typhoon, to take care of the environment given to us. Because whether we deny it or not, this disaster is also a reason of our neglect.

Let us choose to protect our lives to live, instead of earn means for a living. So in the future, hopefully, we don't have to worry about victims, but instead worry about being better citizens of this country. After all, when disasters like these come our way, whatever we earn doesn't matter. It's our life and the lives of others that REALLY DOES MATTER. Peace y'all.

This video goes out to all our countrymen. Never lose hope. We got someone who has never ending love for us...

FINALS AT MANILA OCEAN PARK'S "THE BANDSTAND"

Tonight's the Final Night at The Bandstand! The band, JOINT, will be competing against rock band, BEER, to be the grand winner as we perform in three crazy rounds of heart pumping music. This is gonna be liberation for my part, as this is where the application of all the experiences and lessons I've learned in the past, as I fight against the stigma that I've had.

We (the crew) are no longer nervous, as we told ourselves that we will just be there to have fun, enjoy the music and share the passion to the people who are gonna watch. Yes, and that's the name of our game! Enjoy each moment on stage as if it was the last!

We still got our judges there, Jeffrey Hidalgo of the original Smokey Mountain, Skarlet of Put3ska and Sir Eugene Villaluz of The Minstrels, to give us important feedbacks for that night as we wrap up this season of The Bandstand.

Not quite sure what time the show starts, but be there early enough to save you your seats, around 8pm ;) NO ENTRANCE FEE INVOLVED! Just pay for your fare and your meals! haha!

See y'all!!! PEACE! GOD BLESS!!! =)

*If you don't get enough, on Saturday, we will be at BOOZE STOP for a whole night of R&B/HIP-HOP music starting at 9pm. Located at Kamagong St., Makati. Time to partey! =)

"THRILLER" at The Bandstand (by JOINT)

Here's another performance from The Bandstand, last August 14, 2009. This is my favorite among all our performances in this battle of the bands at The Manila Ocean Park. Of course, "Phobia" is a different story, that is an exception 'coz it's my original creation!

I just love the arrangement. I love the adlib part, where the 'scary' spoken part of the original version is changed to a melodic one...I think we looked good on stage with the costumes we wore! I love my crew's effort to pimp themselves up =)

Confession: Yes, I sorta messed up with the lyrics as they got mixed up inside my head! It's quite a long song and so difficult to memorize! I was having jitters because of that! I felt like..."ooh...the top 5 bands..." and talk about top 5?! Idol sorta haunted me that moment! I was booted out during the final 5 contestants night and I performed a song that was also giving me jitters because of its lyrics! Good thing, they weren't asking me to wear a dress!

But the stigma's gone as our band survived the final 5, ranking 2nd among the bands that night! Special mention to the effort of our family/loved ones and friends who went to see us and give full support most especially with the voting! Thank you so much! We love you all! We earned a sure 25% that night because of you! The cheers gave me extra confidence 'coz I knew these people would never doubt me (as well as the band).

This night gave me a realization about the song, "Thriller". Aside from it being a 'long song', I never realized that it was THAT beautiful. Good lyrics, a different story narrated (a horror love song? Who's crazy enough to write something like that?!!), a crazy music video in the form of a mini movie...and do I need to mention that it was performed by my idol? Well honestly, this wasn't one of my favorites among Michael Jackson's songs, but it is now, as I've absorbed the entirety of the song into my system from listening to it over and over. Just when I did that was the time I was able to reflect and analyze how the songs goes. Talk about the SCIENCE of this song! Wonderful! David Foster is CRAZY!!! Insanely great!
